LIVING A DREAM
 
Schenectady, New York may seem like an unlikely place for an independent television producer, most people involved in the business of creating, developing and producing shows can be found in Los Angeles or New York City. Then there is Donna Pennell, a Capital Region native who has been successfully doing exactly that since 1996.

Pennell has produced weekly shows seen on network affiliate stations like ABC, NBC, CBS, Time Warner, and Adelphia in various markets, including New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and the provinces of Ontario and Quebec Canada. Over the years you may have watched “Dining Out”, “HomeView TV”, “Open House with Scott Varley”, “TV AutoShow”, “At Home”, “Holiday”, or her travel show, “Out & About” which she also hosts.

Now, Pennell adds another new program to her portfolio, “Here Comes the Bride” hits the air in Fall of 2007 and showcases everything wedding related. Also on the horizon are two more shows currently in development, “Men for Hire” and “The Tailgate Cook-Off” both of which Pennell hopes to launch in 2008.

“I love to immerse myself in new projects. Once I dream up an idea for a show, I’ll dive in and work at pulling it together. There is nothing more gratifying than seeing a creative idea evolve into a series of broadcasted programs.” says Pennell.
